It is a very interesting industry, if you think about it. Much of it still remains arcane for the common man, and trends that emerge and are eventually replaced never really feel like a big deal to most of us. However, if you look back, you might be able to appreciate the change that this has bought about to the human race. In fact, better understanding the global fashion industry might make you appreciate how important this particular industry is. There are a lot of factors that go into molding this industry, some of which are discussed below.
Local atmosphere
Depending on how the local atmosphere might be, this is too tends to take the same image. Even culture plays a big role here, and the resulting fashion will be heavily influenced by the designer's culture and heritage. As one might witness in fashion industries around the world, many of the creations are a direct result of the cultural influence of that particular region. This is a common phenomenon observed in the global industry.
Economic Conditions
It is the end of the day, is yet another industry. Hence, it follows that money makes a big presence in this industry and the lack of which, will clearly affect the industry. High profile designers are constantly looking out for emerging and profitable markets. A city that might be considered as the hot seat today might immediately lose face tomorrow if the economy can't keep up with the industry.
External Influences
In this industry, nothing is considered to be a "copy". Designs and styles tend to be inspired, and not copied directly. Hence, with the global fashion industry, the fact that outside styles and designs are bound to influence less important fashion industry magazines cannot be neglected. This is an industry that thrives to remain familiar with differences. External influences are an everyday occurrence and cannot be neglected. People are bound to try and change the way things are, but eventually, the best style will be that of the more powerful industry.
Thus, one can actually assume the global fashion industry to be more of a united industry. Much of the factors that influence the global industry are normally those that emerge from familiar industries. These are the things that are worth noticing for and essentially dictate how the industry tends to be. Not only does this industry change regularly, it actually is a requirement that it change as often as possible. This is something that needs to be taken into consideration when analyzing from a global perspective. In a world that is growing ever more globalized by the minute, it is important to have a basic understanding of geography. Many folks find that they have not taken a geography course since middle school or high school, and, as a consequence, are getting to be a little fuzzy in the geography department. The good news is, that in the age of the internet, it is now possible to be able to brush up on geography without too much extra effort. Instead of enrolling in an expensive course or paying a private tutor, it is now possible to learn geography online for very little effort. Having a satellite internet connection will only make it easier to be able to get the geographic information that you need to learn more about geography.

Teachers are actually drawn closer towards learning of their students and teachers themselves are not enough in making those kids learn. Thus, these Geography and globes toys are made real in order to meet the increase demands for the learning aids and since Geography as a subject tends to be confusing when authentic presentations of data do not exist, teachers should be aware of that teaching do not simply rely on written visual aids or to lesson plans but also to objects that would represent the real ones such as globes and maps.

A globe is a very essential teaching aid that would reveal various details concerning the shape of the earthy, the places, locations, time, etc. A globe is not just a display that would complete the look of the room but it is actually a teaching and learning tool that would serve great importance to both teachers and students. A teacher can use a globe to discuss a certain topic in geography, for instance, the different continents that shape the earth. The subject geography and globes toys are all relevant to any teacher for through these aids, teaching can be done smoothly with less hassles.

Whether you are a school teacher or a parent, you will find it far easier to teach kids geography if you make it fun.

1. Play Board and Card Games
There are many great board and card games available which relate to Geography. Card games like the Borderline series are ideal to teach students the relative locations of places. Mindware has brought out two Brainbox games on geography - one on world geography and one on US geography. Both get the players to study pictorial clues about a country or state and then to answer questions based on what they can remember. This game can be played with many children at the same time and my geography class loved it!

2. Play CD Rom and Online Games
Children love computer games - so this an ideal way to slip in some teaching without them even realizing it. The Carmen Sandiego "Where in the World" and "Where in the USA" games were great favorites with my own kids when they were younger. They learned about places all over the world without even noticing they were learning.
And of course you can find a plethora of online games to challenge players of all different levels of geography knowledge. My family loves the ones on the Sporcle website, but if those are too hard, there are plenty of others to choose from.
3. Watch Movies
There is an excellent DVD series made especially for children called "Families of the World". In each DVD two families in a country are visited - one in the city and one in the country. You can also show children feature movies set in other countries. My young daughter and I watched Children of Heaven about a young boy and girl in Iran who have to share a pair of shoes - and it gave her an excellent insight into another culture.
4. Devise your own Geography Games
Draw a large world map on a piece of paper, stick it on a wall and play 'Pin the Plane on the Continent'. Or make up Geography Taboo, Geography Pictionary, Geography Jeopardy or Geography Charades. You can tailor-make your questions to fit the lesson you are teaching.
5. Communicate with children in other countries
Far off places will become more real to kids if they get to know someone living there. Find pen pals and they can communicate by letter, email, Skype or even Facebook if they are older. Another option is to sign up for the Postcrossings program which organizes a postcard swap between people all over the world. With the global changes happening in the world of education these days, there are really a lot of circumstances that might affect the world of teaching and learning. With the increase demand in teaching and learning aids, the use of Geography and globes toys rises into action. These learning aids are not only great for students for they can really learn the topic of whatever subject being presented but also for teachers who are really dedicated to serve and to educate the young. These kinds of toys really aid teachers in making their lessons easy to be understood and direct to what is intended to be learned.

There are so many websites out on the internet that report to contain the ultimate pub quiz questions, available either for free or at a price, usually the latter. If you get this planning stage wrong, then the fun factor can very quickly turn into a bore factor.
The Quiz Format One very popular type of trivia quiz is the pub quiz (so-called due to the location of the event, in a bar or public house) - originally a British phenomenon dating back to the late 1980s. Pub quiz events still hold popularity, not only in Britain but around the world, often not even in public houses. In the pub environment, a pub Quizmaster must pay particular care that he or she has the right sort of questions and the right topics covered - failure to do so could result in the alienation of one or more of the quiz team members. So make sure that all topics of interest are covered. Decide how many questions will be asked and then plan the topics to be covered.

Download Question of Geography UN Exam 2010

Download Question

Many Quizmasters present their quizzes in batches of ten questions, known as rounds. A good duration for a pub quiz would be four rounds of ten questions, presented over a duration of two hours; that's one round per half an hour. Obviously it takes a lot less time to present the questions but giving your quiz teams enough time to think about the answers is imperative.
Cover topics from history to geography, music to arts, sport to religion and you won't go far wrong. Try to add a few brain-scratchers in there, along with at least one question where no member of any team could possibly know the answer, such that an element of educated guesswork is required.
So in detail, the ideal pub quiz would run like this:
Hand each team a pen/pencil and an answer sheet - the sheet contains a space for a team name and ten numbered boxes for the teams to enter their answers. Also allow a space at the bottom of the sheet for scoring each round.
Spend five minutes presenting ten questions. Read the questions slowly and read them twice. Allow 30 seconds of each question, or longer if spelling is required.
Allow twenty minutes for the teams to answer their questions as well as a chance for them to contact the quizmaster if a question was not written down in time, or if spelling clarification is required.
Score each of the team's answer sheets and announce the answers to each question. If you wish you can also update the teams as to what they scored and in which position they rank overall.

Do your research There is nothing more embarrasing than announcing an answer that one or more team members know is wrong. Make sure that the teams understand that the Quizmaster's decision is final, should a dispute come about, but make sure that your answers are concrete solid, allow no scope for alternative answers to be given and equally correct. Wikipedia is a great source for trivia. Use the resource wisely and only use facts if they are backed-up with references proving the validity of the data. Pick a topic out of the air, go to the related Wikipedia.org page for that topic and read the article. Word your question in a way that makes the goal of the question understandable and entertaining. A great question that popped-up a few years back was: "Since June 1986, what has rotated in a clockwise direction at around 12 meters per second?" No quiz team member would know the answer to that question straight away but careful thinking and analysis would get a good thinker wondering what happened in June 1986. Of course, the football world cup in Mexico took place in June 1986 - known as the birthplace of the so-called "Mexican wave" - Laola. And there is your answer, the Mexican wave travels around football stadiums in a clockwise direction at a speed of around 12 meters per second.
Another tip is to search for online almanacs which list off facts and figures. For example, the CIA factbook is incredibly useful when writing geography questions as it lists many factors about every country in the world.

It's like a global race where the post is passed hand to hand from east to west in such a way that you are never left without a market open to trade along the day.
The trading day starts in New Zealand and then follows Australia, the Middle East, Europe and America. The major forex markets are London, New York and Tokyo.

With this in mind, by now you should be asking what the schedule is of the forex markets around the world. This schedule can be divided like this:
New York : 8 am - 4 pm EST
London: 2 am - 12: pm EST
Tokyo: 8 pm - 4 am EST

From the bottom of India to the top it's almost 2000 miles, from East to West around 1850 miles wide and the whole subcontinent covers an massive (but slightly controversial) area of 1,269,219 square miles.
The North
The geography of India in the North is that of the Himalayan mountain range which contrast completely with the flat Northern plain as it stretches right across the top of India. Amazingly the decline of it's slope over this huge area (roughly 1000 miles) is a tiny 198 meters.
The South
As the great Northern plain heads south it begins to go into a high plateau known as the Deccan. To the West of the the huge plateau are the beautiful Western Ghats that lead down to the sea and then on the East the Eastern Ghats which run parallel to the sea. Both mountain ranges meet in the deep South and form the Nigeria Hills.
The Godiva and Krishna Rivers are the two big rivers in South India and both rise on the Western side of the Western Ghats before flowing East over the Deccan and then down into the sea on the East coast.
The West
The Geography of India in the West is somewhat different to the rest of India. The west contains the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa and part of the large, central state of Nadya Prudish. The land along the coast is typically lush, with rain forests reaching southward from Bombay all the way to Goa.
The East
The East of is characterized by the Ganges river and, amongst others, the states of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Orissa. East India also contains an area known as the eastern triangle extends beyond Bangladesh, culminating in the Naga Hills by the border of Burma.

Nearly every elementary, middle and high school classroom I ever visited contained one of those huge pull-down world maps. The teacher would pull it down and use a pointer to identify those far-away places that, at the time, I never imagined visiting. The world seemed like a very big place from the looks of those maps. But a Chicago businessman started an industry that brings the world closer. Luther Replogle's story is about a product that came to us in a time-honored way-pursuing the American dream.

In the 1920s, Luther Replogle had a job selling sold a variety of classroom and student supplies. But it was the globes he provided to schools that intrigued him. At the beginning of the Great Depression-a time when stable jobs were hard to find and hard to keep--Mr. Replogle left his job selling school supplies and started a business crafting globes by hand. His business goal was, "A globe in every home."
Mr. Replogle ran his new business out of his home-even manufacturing. Times were tough in the beginning, but in 1933 when the Chicago World's Fair opened, Mr. Replogle's business took off. He received a contract with the Marshall Fields department store to manufacture souvenir globes. In two years time, over 100,000 visitors to the fair purchased a Replogle globe. Americans listening for news had a tool that would help them understand the developments about the war.
The world changes rapidly, and keeping globes accurate is one of the challenges that a globe manufacturer faces. To ensure the integrity of its products, every Replogle globe has been manufactured with input from government agencies such as the U.S. State Department, the U.S. Board of Geographic Names, and the National Imagery and Mapping Agency to ensure correct country names and accurate political boundaries. Corresponding organizations in foreign countries regularly provide updates to Replogle Globe. Each Replogle globe is designed with attention to in accuracy, assembled with care, and delivered with pride in craftsmanship. This product is synonymous with quality design, innovative style, and precision production.
Anyone who wants to buy a Replogle globe today has a tremendous selection of styles to choose from. If you want a desk globe, you can select a small Replogle globe that is integrated with a desk clock. If you want to introduce a student to geography, you can purchase a globe that shows countries in brilliant colors. You can purchase a Replogle globe that shows not the surface of the Earth, but instead, the constellations in the night skies. For an elegant addition to your home, you can select a Replogle globe in gemstones with gold or silver strips lines of latitude and longitude, or a Replogle globe pieced together with variety of woods. You can choose a crystal globe showing countries in polished chrome, a globe that glows from within with the flip of a switch, and a globe with a leather surface. TLD domains are the most common domains extensions that if familiar to every website users, such as,.com,.net, and.org domain extension. Finally, Country-code top-level domains were designed especially for websites related to particular countries, for instance,.cn (China),.uk (United Kingdom), and.ro (Romania). Then which type of extensions should you choose for your website? Does it affect your business? If you are expecting local visitors from a particular country (i.e. Canada), it is important for you to register for example,.ca extension to telling people that you are operating out of Canada. This would indicate to search engines that the content of the site is related to the country in question, which would improve the search rankings of the site for search queries coming from the same geographical location. Then with your regular content published, you will gain a large audience base from Canada.
However, if you are going to launch a website with general information so that your audiences have no geography difference, you may be not required to by a specific ccTLDs because you are expecting as many people as possible from all around the world to read your content. Then it is advised that you had better to go for TLDs or gTLDs domains because they will telling the search engines that your website is global in nature, with no bias towards any areas.
Overall, a name plays a prominent role when people discover, remember, think about, talk about, search for, or navigate to a website. Therefore, it is very important to choose two ideal labels to make up a perfect domain for your website. In addition, it is also important to choose a ideal web host for your website. Your target audience should never be overlooked. When shopping a web host for your website, it is a good idea to find a provider from where your visitors are, that is to say, if you have audience in the United States, you had better find a provider for USA.

Don't consider the essay to be a part of your boring curriculum. For writing your geography essay with passion it is advisable to pick up a topic you personally feel very strongly about. You would also be able to incorporate your personal views as the topic is close to your heart.
Choose topics that have a certain amount of mystique surrounding them and on which your essay can shed some light. Don't go in for some mundane topic on which people have been writing since ages. Geography Bees are performed locally school by school, but there are also regional, state, and national competitions. The National Geographic Bee, previously the National Geography Bee, is open to fourth through eighth grade American students. The annual Bee is hosted by Alex Trebek and has students from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands and Pacific territories, as well as Department of Defense Dependents Schools.

To get to the national bee is no easy feet. School level competitions begin in November. There is no limit on the number of competitors, though there is a minimum of 6 participants required to host an event. The Bee begins with preliminaries, where competitors are split into groups of twenty. Each is asked one question from 7 categories. Each question is worth 1 point, and the top scorers advance to the second round.
The second part of competition has two parts - a final and championship round. The 10 finalists are cleared of previous points, and are eliminated after two incorrect answers. Once the third place winner is decided, the two semi-finalists go head to head. Third place eliminations don't happen until all students have voiced an answer, because if all players are incorrect no one is eliminated.
The championship round is played between the two semi-finalists. Before the question is asked, points are cleared once more. Participants have 15 seconds to write down their answers. To qualify for state competition, all school-level winners take a written test. The top 100 qualify for the state bee, which follows the same rules as the local bees. National competitors are the winners from state and territory bees. Other than an increase in preliminary questions from 7 to 9, rules are identical.

There are lots of benefits to getting a geography degree by way of an online learning program. Firstly, there is no requirement to commute in order to take part in the lessons. This can save many hours of time each week. As lectures are done at your own pace, you're able to choose the time that's best for you to study. You are also in a position to flexibly schedule your learning in between the hours you go to work. This is a definite advantage because of the fact that lots of people who plan to improve their school cannot accomplish that because of work issues that don't allow them to find the time for higher education. This allows the average guy to get a degree.
There is one thing that you must rest assured of when studying for an online learning program based geography degree, and that is to maintain a focused level of self-discipline. Unlike traditional college or academy, the studies are typically independent. This means that you will be expected to complete your own task in a timely manner and to meet the deadlines without needing to be pursued by your teacher repeatedly. Also, you won't be eligible for any reimbursement if you decide not to complete assignments when you're enrolled and taking part in a class, which is similar to how standard universities work.
While online education courses are notably cheaper than pursuing local schools or faculties, the costs are still high enough to want to be serious about learning, so as to not waste time and money. The charge that is involved is for the teacher's competence so whether or not you complete your tasks, he'll do his job by helping you in the best possible way to obtain your diploma.
Most of the distance education programs that offer geography degrees require performing classwork tasks independently. Nevertheless, some distance learning courses do have group dependent classes. Web based chats and seminars are the tools employed by these types of programs. If you're taking part in a group lesson, you'll be expected to be present at these classes.

There are even globes that make learning fun because you can get ones that light up and others that are raised relief. They allow you to put an interesting twist on the lesson. For example, you could teach your child about the different countries in the world in the dark since the globe can illuminate the whole room. The ones that are raised relief actually have bumps on them, so your child can see and feel the difference in elevation, which is pretty neat when you're trying to keep them focused and on task.

The narration is done from the point of view of one of the children in the family, so children can easily relate to what they are watching.

Find pen pals and they can communicate by letter, email, Skype or even Facebook if they are older. Another option is to sign up for the Postcrossings program which organizes a postcard swap between people all over the world.

Let's face it... Geography is one of the most overlooked subjects in traditional public schooling and in homeschooling. Why? How about Chile? Is this relevant information or should we just spend a little more time with math, history and writing?

Here are 5 very easy and even enjoyable ways to learn more about our globe without compromising your other studies or losing your kids to utter boredom. In fact, learning geography will enhance nearly every other subject area that your students are studying.
1. Mark It on the Map
When you study a place, a person or an event, mark in on your wall map. If you do not have a wall map of the world, pick one up inexpensively at Costco, Borders or Walmart. Thumb tack it to your wall. Let's say that you are studying Louis Pasteur in science. Using a colored marker, place a dot on Dole, France (where he was born) or Paris, France (where he lived and died) and mark the location with his name. You can do this with almost any location information that you read about during your normal course of studies.
2. Color an Outline Map
Purchase or search online for a set of historical outline maps. As you study various events in history, print out an appropriate map for your students to label and color while you read their history text to them. When they are finished labeling their maps, they can color them and then add to a history binder, the refrigerator or bulletin board.
3. Mix it up with a Unit Study
Maybe your students are burned out on the regular schedule and it is time for a change. Why not mix things up by doing a unit study? A great way to throw in a splash of geography into your studies would be to study one country for a week. Learn about their customs, their religion, their architecture and their values. Read some great books, look at beautiful pictures, cook up some authentic cuisine, create a craft.
4. Take a Map on your Trip
Will you be taking a road trip at any time in the near future? Print off a map of the area you will be driving (or flying through) and have your kids mark places of interest as you pass by them on your journey.
5. Dig in Deeper
Perhaps you and your students are ready for a deeper study of a particular geographic region. It is perfectly acceptable to set aside another subject for a time, such as history or science, and dig deeper into geography. You won't cause your students any educational damage by laying aside one subject for a time to pick up another. In fact, they will retain more if they can study more deeply in one subject, rather than spreading themselves too thinly across a multitude of subjects.
In conclusion, geography does not need to be hard or intimidating. We can learn more about our world right alongside our kids. Don't worry if your children are not connecting the dots right away and still seem disorientated with the globe. Over time and with continued reinforcement, your children will become familiar with the layout of our planet and the people God has placed upon it. As home educators, we can feel confident that we are producing well-rounded, well-educated and compassionate kids when we add a splash of geography to our studies at least once a week.

The Study and Application of Geography

Scope
Modern geography has come a long way and is today an all encompassing field of study. It covers the study of spatial arrangement of phenomenon that have shaped the surface of the earth, the interrelationship between man and environment and the research related with earth sciences.
It is important to note that this field is chiefly concerned with spatial arrangement or distribution of things. For example, it tells us the factors that have led to location of industry at a particular place and if there was a change of location, what factor led to that.
Geography is different from Geology. Geology deals with the interior of the earth's crust unlike Geography which is a study of the things and phenomena on the surface of the earth. Categorization
It is broadly categorized into two parts: physical and human. The physical aspects deal with the landforms like the mountains, plains, deserts, plateaus, and the processes which form these landforms. These physical features evolve over a long period of time.
The human aspect studies the interrelationship between man and earth. It covers cultural (ethnicity, religion), geo-political, historical, economic and other aspects. These change as compared to the physical ones in a comparatively short time frame, say, two or three decades. For this reason, you will find that most of the geography textbooks are not rewritten or revised. Mostly, it is the used textbooks that keep changing hands.
Relevance
It is ironical that this stream is underrated as a career choice even as the practical applications of this body of knowledge finds great use in our everyday lives. Whether it is the city map at your home or the modern day GPS device in your car, these are the result of technological innovation in this area. And, it is also relevant while studying other subjects like history, polity, and environmental sciences in schools and colleges. Further, while opting for careers in travel and tourism, journalism, digital mapping, urbanization studies, and demographics, the knowledge of Geography is essential. Some of the jobs even require a degree in the field. You can simply read any relevant book on it. If budget is a constraint, you can even go for less expensive used textbooks.
New Innovations
With the development of geographical thought and quantitative revolution, a new study called Geometrics has evolved. Its continuous evolution has enabled the measurement of various phenomena using advanced devices. Modern remote imaging, digital mapping technologies, and cartography have led to development of Geographical Information Systems and Global Positioning Systems. These have proven to be invaluable for resource mapping, defense and geo-political purposes, and for maintaining law and order. It is true; geography is a vast area of study.
